A day after Davey Johnson projected Tuesday as Bryce Harper?s target date for a rehab assignment, the Nats outfielder said that may be wishful thinking.?
Harper himself doesn?t expect to play until Wednesday or Thursday and hopes to have as many as six or seven minor league games before he is brought back up to join the Nationals.
?Tuesday, that?s kind of early,? Harper said. ?I?m thinking?Wednesday?or Thursday?maybe. I?m not sure. We?ll see how I feel. If I feel good, then I?ll go play. If I feel something isn?t right, then I?m not going to go play. It depends on how I?m feeling.?
Johnson said on Friday he didn?t think Harper would need a lot of time in the minors, maybe three games or so. Harper would like to be there longer.
?Absolutely not,? Harper said. ?I would like to be at six or seven games. I want to play six games. That?s one thing, I want to get my timing back. I don?t want to come back one game after I play against High-A ball and come back facing Wheeler and Matt Harvey or something. I?m not going to face those guys. They?d blow me away right now. That?s something I don?t want to do. I?m going play as many games as I can down there, see how I feel, and try and get back.?
When informed that Harper wanted to take it slower, Johnson said it?s more his call as the manager.
?I'll have a conversation with him about that,? Johnson said. ?When a player starts playing, it's really up to me, what I think they need. Not up to the player. I'm always trying to do what's best for the player. But at the same time, it's my job to know when they're ready and when they're not.?
Harper and the Nats? medical staff will be monitoring the swelling in his knee over the next few days. Harper said the knee is finally pain-free.
?It?s still going to be sore the whole year, I feel like. But daily, it?s getting better. I have no pain, which is good,? he said.?
?I?m a little sore everywhere else, but that?s common. It?s good to have no pain finally. To run with zero pain is going to feel great. I?m feeling better every day. I?m just trying to do things the right way so that things go well when I get back.?

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) ? Darden's fiscal fourth-quarter net income fell 12 percent on rising costs and expenses, the restaurant operator said Friday.
Comparable sales at its Olive Garden, Red Lobster and LongHorn Steakhouse restaurants rose 2.2 percent, however, thanks to improving traffic.
That sent shares higher in premarket trading, even though the company fell short of Wall Street profit expectations.
Darden has ramped up its efforts to get more people through the door after struggling with customer traffic for several years, and that is starting to pay off. Revenue edged out most analyst projections, according to poll by FactSet.
Darden ditched its long-running marketing campaign for Olive Garden that was intended to evoke old world charm. Olive Garden restaurants are now shown as livelier and more modern spots. The company also added dishes that are less calorically intense to its menu.
The company added more non-seafood items at Red Lobster in hopes of eliminating the possibility that a family or group of friends wouldn't go to the restaurant just because one person didn't like seafood. It also began testing a lunch service where diners pay at the counter rather than having a wait person take their order at a table.
The changes were put into place after Darden saw customer traffic begin to fall in the final fiscal quarter of 2012, then carry over into the first two quarters of this year, said Chairman and CEO Clarence Otis
"Growing same-restaurant traffic is our top priority," said Otis. "So, with same-restaurant traffic growth this quarter that was well above industry average, we had an encouraging end to a difficult year."
For the period ended May 26, Darden Restaurants Inc. earned $133.2 million, or $1.01 per share. That compares with $151.2 million, or $1.15 per share, a year ago.
Total costs and expenses increased to $2.14 billion from $1.86 billion.
Removing costs and purchase accounting adjustments tied to its acquisition of Yard House USA Inc., earnings were $1.02 per share, two cents shy of Wall Street estimates.
Revenue climbed 11 percent to $2.3 billion from $2.07 billion. Analysts polled by FactSet were looking for $2.27 billion in revenue.
Sales at LongHorn Steakhouse restaurants open at least a year rose 3.5 percent in the quarter and were up 3.2 percent at Red Lobster locations. At Olive Garden, the figure increased 1.1 percent.
Sales at The Capital Grille locations open at least a year rose 4.5 percent. The metric climbed 4.3 percent at Eddie V's and 1 percent at Seasons 52. These restaurants are part of Darden's specialty restaurant group which reported a 65 percent jump in fourth-quarter revenue, helped by new restaurant openings and the Yard House acquisition.
For the year, Darden earned $411.9 million or $3.13 per share. In the previous year, the Orlando, Fla. company earned $475.5 million, or $3.57 per share.
Adjusted earnings were $3.22 per share.
Annual revenue increased 7 percent to $8.55 billion from $8 billion.
Darden said that it expects fiscal 2014 adjusted earnings per share to be up between 4 percent and 6 percent. Revenue is anticipated to climb 6 percent to 8 percent, including an additional quarter of sales from Yard House. Based on fiscal 2013's adjusted earnings of $3.22 per share and $8.55 billion in revenue, this implies earnings of $3.35 to $3.41 per share on revenue of $9.06 billion to $9.23 billion.
Wall Street had been looking for earnings of $3.19 per share on revenue of $8.52 billion, and shares rose 77 cents to $52 before the opening bell.
The company also raised its quarterly dividend 10 percent, to 55 cents per share from 50 cents per share. The dividend will be paid on Aug. 1 to shareholders of record on July 10.
Darden, which owns and runs more than 2,100 restaurants, will hold its annual shareholders meeting on Sept. 18.

ROME (AP) ? An autopsy on James Gandolfini has confirmed the "Sopranos" star died of a heart attack, with no evidence of substance abuse or foul play, a family spokesman said Friday.
Michael Kobold told reporters that Gandolfini's body has been released to a funeral director and that the family was working with the Italian government to speed up the bureaucratic red tape to get the body back to the United States soon.
While the process can take up to 10 days, Kobold said the family was hoping to have the body repatriated by mid-week with a funeral planned in New York by June 29 at the latest.
Gandolfini, 51, died Wednesday night. His body was discovered in a Rome hotel room by a family member.
He had arrived in Rome on Tuesday and spent his first full day in the Eternal City with his teen-age son, visiting the Vatican and dining in the hotel, the luxury Boscolo Exedra. They dined together in the hotel on Wednesday night, awaiting the arrival in Rome of Gandolfini's sister, Leta.
"He had a wonderful day," Kobold said of the father-son vacation.
Asked if Gandolfini had a history of heart problems, Kobold said he was healthy.
"There's nothing out of the ordinary. It was a heart attack. It was a natural cause," he said. "There was no foul play, no substance abuse. None of that."
Morgue officials at Rome's Policlinico Umberto I hospital said the U.S. Embassy had told them not to speak to the media, and that a family representative would provide the results of the autopsy. Kobold, a longtime family friend, said he had been asked by the family to act as its spokesman.
While he provided no written evidence of the autopsy results, the director of the emergency room at the hospital, Dr. Claudio Modini, said on Thursday that Gandolfini had suffered a cardiac arrest. Sudden cardiac arrest can be due to a heart attack, a heart rhythm problem, or as a result of trauma.
Leta went to the morgue on Friday to formally identify the body.
Gandolfini was to have helped preside over the closing ceremony on Saturday of the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily. The festival instead is organizing a tribute to him.
His portrayal of criminal Tony Soprano in HBO's landmark drama series "The Sopranos" was just one facet of his rich legacy as an actor in movies and plays.

This week's set of Android apps have a little something for everyone. Whether you're the creative type, a little bit of a space cadet (it's ok?we all are sometimes), or texting fiend looking for a better way to get the message across, we've got you covered. It's been a long week, so kick back, relax, and enjoy the best apps Android has to offer.
SMS Alarm: Regardless of how tightly and/or desperately you cling to your phone, there comes a time in every person's life when he or she realizes that they have absolutely no idea where they last put down their Precious. Then the panic attack hits. Fortunately for Android users, SMS Alarm can end the frantic search almost immediately?even if your phone is set to silent. This is a problem that everyone's struggled with, and the app offers a simple, highly effective solution to this universal ill. Plus, it's free, so you've got nothing to lose?literally. [Free]
Video for Instagram: Although not an entirely new app, Facebook did finally unveil their Vine-like competitor this week by adding video to the phenomenally popular Instagram. Essentially, you have a maximum of 15 seconds to work with, and the shortest your clips can be is three seconds. The video plays once and then pauses itself; it autoplays when you pause to look at it in the stream, and can be replayed by tapping on it. Audio is on by default. Instagram for Video seems pretty smart. Photos and videos built into the same feed mean you don't have to remember to look at another app. Fifteen seconds is just long enough to sing happy birthday. And filters? Who doesn't like filters! [Free]
Fleksy: It may still be in beta, and you may only be able to download the app after becoming a Google+ community beta tester, but to finally have access to this wonderful predictive touch keyboard that's already been available for iOS?it's worth it. You get two keyboard options (QWERTY either with keyboard or without) which you're free to swipe on and off. Corrections are made using simple gestures, and though it takes some practice?you're eventually free to type like a seemingly illiterate madman while still producing coherent thoughts. [Free]

For six straight months, home prices have been leaping in double digits from a year ago. In May, the median existing home sale price was 15.4 percent higher nationally than May of 2012, according to a new report from the National Association of Realtors.
The Realtors themselves say that kind of jump is "unsustainable."
"Some of the increases can be explained by the fact that it is recovering from an over-corrected situation," said Lawrence Yun, chief economist for the Realtors. "But with people's income rising at only 1 or 2 percent and prices rising in double digits, it cannot continue. "Part of the steep rise in the median home price can be attributed to a change in the mix of homes that are selling. Sales of homes priced below $100,000 were down 9 percent from a year ago, while sales of homes priced at more than $500,000 were up 33 percent.
Distressed properties, that is short sales and foreclosures, are also a diminishing share of total home sales. They are down to just 18 percent, the lowest since the Realtors began tracking these sales in 2008. That share, however, is far higher in some of the formerly hard-hit markets, where another new phenomenon is playing out.
"We noticed in some of the markets where we were either buying or selling properties, that the price discounts on REOs [bank-owned homes] appeared to be vanishing rapidly," said Rick Sharga of Carrington Mortgage Holdings, a fund that has invested in distressed properties.
In many of the markets that took a beating during the real estate meltdown, such as California, Arizona and Florida, prices of distressed homes are rising faster than traditional home prices. These markets are also seeing the highest volume of home sales, therefore having an outsized effect on the national number.
"You can at least make an argument that part of the dramatic increase in median home prices can be attributed to the foreclosure discount evaporating. That suggests that overall home price increases may be slightly overstated," said Sharga.
Also weighing on home prices are rising mortgage rates. May's existing home sales report from the Realtors represents closed sales, so contracts and interest rates would have been signed and locked in March or April, before rates began to rise.
Based on the change in mortgage rates from early May to today, the average buyer would have to pay 13 percent more in monthly payments, including taxes and insurance, according to Mark Hanson, a California-based analyst. They also have to earn 10 percent more in income to qualify for a loan based on a typical qualifying debt-to-income ratio of 45 percent.
"These are huge moves especially considering -- when purchasing a house using a mortgage -- most people buy based on 'monthly payment and the maximum allowable debt-to-income ratio.' This means first-timer share will fall even further. They are already at a multiyear low even with record-low rates," said Hanson.
First-time homebuyer participation was at just 29 percent, according to the Realtors, a five-year low. Without these buyers, as investors pull back and prices rise, home sales will likely lose steam. June's report on pending home sales, or signed contracts in May, will tell just how much rising rates are impacting sales. That report will be released Thursday, June 27.

True to JK Shin's promise, Samsung is indeed introducing a new Android-powered mirrorless camera: the Galaxy NX. Although it runs Google's mobile OS (version 4.2.2 Jelly Bean) and bears LTE radios, the NX is not quite a direct sequel to the Galaxy Camera, the company's glorified point-and-shoot for all comers. Rather, the Galaxy NX is what Samsung calls an interchangeable-lens CSC (or Compact System Camera), featuring a 20.3-megapixel APS-C sensor, as well as 3G / 4G LTE, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity -- making it worthy of that Galaxy moniker.
As you can tell from the above image, the Galaxy NX also packs a large 4.8-inch HD LCD display on its rear and is powered by a 1.6GHz Pega-Q quad-core setup and separate DRIMe IV Signal processor for imaging. The UI should look pretty familiar to anyone who's used an Android device before, with the common apps and widgets submenus, as well as the device wheel for its 30 Smart Modes -- employed when selecting imaging settings. And if you happen to own any of the company's other NX cameras, you'll be able to swap out lenses (13 in all) as the Galaxy NX is fully compatible with that range. It also incorporates a hybrid AF, culled from the best of DSLRs and compacts, with a shutter speed of 1/6,000th of a second and 8.6fps shooting.
Samsung's been pretty forthcoming about all the tech and software it's put into the Galaxy NX, but there are two key bits it's still withholding: pricing and availability. For now, it appears UK residents will have first crack at the Galaxy NX, as PR pegs its release for that territory as sometime this summer. The same, however, can't be said for a US launch. Regardless, as the Galaxy NX is more a proper camera for experienced photogs and less Android phone like the Galaxy Camera and S4 Zoom, you can bet on its price tag being relatively high. In the meanwhile, check out our Galaxy NX hands-on for more detailed impressions.
